Are You Sirius

by , under Misc

Sirius is one of the brightest stars in the sky, if not the brightest. It looks like a diamond when you look at it thru the eye piece.

This is very cool. I thought the only way to view stars like this was to visit a planetarium, let alone being able to take a picture. And that pic of the moon!

Your next challenge might be to catch Sirius B. It’s a dim companion star to the bright Sirius and orbits around it so close that the bright glare of Sirius A tends to wash it out. If you’re lucky, you might just catch it some time.
